OUR HISTORY

The story of M & M Pies (Ned Kelly’s Bakery & Café) started in 1982, when Murray Price decided to move from Kadina to Adelaide to start his own pie and cake bakery on Grand Junction Road. Murray called his first bakery M & M Pies which means Murray and Michelle (his wife’s name) bakery.

Murray Price comes from the Price family which has been baking for well over 120 years. Murray has always had a strong commitment to developing his baking skills and has been a strong and innovative leader in the baking industry.

Murray was the first baker in South Australia to start producing flavored pies such as the much loved Steak and Potato pie, Pizza pie and our famous Ned Kelly pie. Murray is also very well known for his giant donuts and delicious cakes.

M & M Pies has been transformed into the Ned Kelly’s Bakery and Café which is located at Port Road, Alberton. The name Ned Kelly’ Bakery and Café represents the very popular Ned Kelly Pie which Murray developed over 20 years ago which has grown into the most popular and significant pie he produces.
